Dr. Lyons has been my esophagus' paparazzi (dozens of endoscopies) for more than 10 years. He's saved my life several times by sending me to the ER, picking up on small symptoms that meant I had to have surgery that day or potentially pass away. He listens to his patients, (and not just their bowel sounds) and his bedside manner is kind, considerate, and funny. Sometimes specialist doctors have egos that can be difficult to swallow, but his mannerisms are easy to digest. His office is smoothly run so the time passes quickly. On the rare occasions when there's a blockage to my recovery, and I become frustrated with medical bureaucracy, he allows me to vent my spleen without judgement. He's far more than competent, I never feel like he's bitten off more than he can chew, despite being a complicated patient.

He also re-examined some older test results and reduced my daily medication intake, eliminating a medication that could cause problems with long term use. Dr Manetas has been my GI doctor since 2010. I have been 100% satisfied with the care he has provided over the years. Now that I am on a Medicare Advantage plan, keeping Dr Manetas as my GI doctor is my primary consideration when choosing a plan.

I remember meeting Dr Shah for the first time in his office at Memorial Regional. He seemed a bit arrogant but thorough. I say this only because those usually make the best qualified doctors/ surgeons. I have been in healthcare for over 40 years. I have been working with Dr Shah for over 5-7 years and we have built an amazing doctor-patient relationship. I even believe he has become a bit softer around the edges in the last few years. So if you want an excellent doctor with a kind disposition, Dr Shah is your man. I would trust him with any family member or friend not to mention myself.

Dr. Sandhu was great! He was calm and explained everything clearly. He took his time and listened and answered my questions. The nurses were also wonderful, professional but also sweet. I was in great hands all around!

I have been a patient for a number of years with Dr. Edelman. She is very thorough and is responsive when reaching out to her office even in instances of emergency situations. I started seeing Dr. Flynn and he informed me I needed a TIF done and to go to Dr. Sandhu. Dr. Sandhu knew everything that was going to happen from the first appointment. Surgery went smoothly and I have not taken any stomach medicine since! I can't say enough good things about Dr. Sandhu and passion for gastro... Also, if you are looking at a TIF...do it! Follow the diet and the recovery will be a breeze!

Had a colonoscopy last year with Dr. Manetas and decided to have an endoscopy that unfortunately I didn’t schedule last year. I could have used another doctor but wanted to wait and have Dr. Manetas again. A truly great doctor that you can tell really takes pride in what he does. He makes you feel comfortable with the whole process. Highly recommend.

Dr Manetas is an outstanding Dr. He is kind, knowledgeable, and has a great bedside manner. My experience at the Staple Mills location for my endoscopy and colonoscopy was very good. From the front desk to the nurses and everyone who took care of me, I knew I was in good hands the whole time. I have been a patient of Shannon Townsend, PA-C for about a year. At first I was aprehensive. I had been a patient of two other fine physicians in that practice who were no longer there. When I first met with Dr. Townsend I know I gave her a hard time. But she took it all in stride. She provided for my needs and I had excellent results. Every time I have a problem I can easily get in touch through the portal and very quickly get a reply from her. In summary she is an excellent, knowledgeable, caring practitioner and u highly recommend her.

Dr. Shah is very thorough and professional. I have been a patient for over 5 years. He always seems interested in my medical condition and keeps close tabs on treatment options and what is working and what is not. Dr. Shah and his staff quickly communicate through the portal and has even worked with me over the phone while travelling to help manage my condition.

Ms. Sawyers has been a valued and trusted asset as I deal with my medical issues. I have had several telemedicine and in-office visits to deal with my problems. She is always positive and informative and takes the time to analyze my condition. I frequently use the Patient Portal to notify her of changing conditions and ask questions. She always responds within a day and provides advice and treatment modifications. AT many medical offices these days, it is almost impossible to communicate with any certified personnel without making appointments months in advance. This is not the case here and I communicate with her whenever needed. Great service, a friendly and courteous attitude and sound medical advice!

I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy on the same day. I was not feeling great in recovery, I was wheezing and had a lot of phlegm in my throat. I mentioned it to Dr. Gallahan and he only ask if I was having chest pain and quickly left. When I returned home the wheezing worsened and I began vomiting. I called the after hours number and the on-call doctor told me I probably had pneumonia and to go an urgent care or to an emergency room. I was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia and given antibiotics. I was extremely fatigued and did not get out of bed for 4 days and was coughing and nauseas the whole time. I NEVER received a call from anyone at the practice even through the oncall doctor seemed confident that I had pneumonia. I involved my PCP who was attentive called to check on me regularly even over the weekend. My PCP suggested that I go back to the emergency room at St. Francis because my Fever was spiking. The antibiotics where working, but i was still very sick. I was given a full workup, and sent home with breathing treatments and a lot of additional meds. Thank goodness for my PCP. I'm very concerned that I got aspirated pneumonia during the procedure, VERY disappointed that no one has called to answer my questions or give me any information about how it happened or even express concern. I'm left to google my way through this nightmare!

Dr. Shah is very thorough and easy to talk to. He is knowledgeable but not at all arrogant. My office visit was a very pleasant experience due to Dr. Shah and the office support staff.

the prep, is simply said; torture. If you do what the procedure calls for it is much easier than in the past. So now we are talking about the check in and wait time to start the process..... not long at all. Once I was checked into the preop....so many people interacted with me, each one very friendly. My nurse installing my IV was pleasant and very kind. So now i'm on my way into the OR for the procedure...very cool...loved it. Once in the operating theater <i was approached by multiple people asking me questions....It was the stories were we passing back and forth....lol best trip ever

Dr. Edelman was phenomenal and her staff was remarkable. My anxiety began to reduce the moment I have entered the facility. Dr. Edelman checked in with me and asked if I had any questions. I have done a telehealth conference prior to my appointment. She made the procedure less fearful. I definitely felt at ease after speaking with Dr. Edelman.

Highly Recommend Dr. Flynn

Dr. Sandhu is always very friendly, professional, caring and relaxed, which makes his patients feel at ease. This is especially appreciated when patients are going in for a GI procedure. I appreciate that Dr Adam took the time to greet me and talk with me briefly before my procedure he also answered several questions that I had. As far as I can tell he did a great job.

I have been on a prescription for a few years, but the effectiveness was decreasing. Dr Flynn gave me a few suggestions that corrected the problem avoiding any need for further action at this time. I haven’t needed to see him for two years and this visit was well worth the visit.

When I woke up from the procedure I was cold and asked nurse for warm water to drink. She said they didn't have any. Other than that everything was great.

This is the best my tummy has done since sometime last year. All the extremely bad accidents have stopped and so far normal BMs and I had not had them under control all year since the beginning of January when the C Diff got me again. Having to take all that medication in June and July must have settled the old tummy down finally. That awful smell went away too and that was another reason I knew the C diff infection was still lingering. It was very bad just like Cancer smell and just lingered in side my nose. Dr Lyons has been good working to get me back to almost a normal person. lol

Shannon was very attentive to my issues and guiding me to what my issues might be.

Dr. Adams is very knowledgeable and understands my illness. Very compassionate and understanding of a patient with a difficult and chronic problem. Chronic illness is not easy to deal with.

Dr Manetes was wonderful. He listened to my concerns and was very helpful as to what I need to do to deal with a hiatal hernia. He told me how to use the medicines for a hiatal hernia to make it more effect for relief. Told me to come back in 6 months and call him if I needed him sooner!

Dr Shah was my doctor when I was admitted to hospital. He went above and beyond to discover my problems. I then decided he is My GI doctor. He ordered a mri as Follow up of my surgery. When I had an appt in office, he listened and immediately gave tests to determine what is next step for My problem. Staff was very nice too.

The day of the colonoscopy I would rate as a 5. I had a 7:20 appointment, everything went quickly and smoothly and I was done and home by 8:30. The scheduling was a different story. I decided on my 56th birthday that I should finally do one of these. My birthday was in April, I filled out the online thing, you responded with an email saying I would be contacted in 3 days. It was almost a month before I heard back from you, and at that point I was going to say "forget it." But.....I went ahead with the scheduling, I told the person I wanted an early as possible appointment, she gave me some options in July, they were all in the afternoon. It took awhile but she finally realized I REALLY wanted a morning appointment, I was about to confirm when I asked if this is with the Dr I requested. She said, "Oh you requested someone in particular." So we started over. She found me an early AM appointment, with the Dr I requested, it was in October, that was fine with me. Yes I would recommend Richmond Gatroenterology Associates to someone, but I would let them know about the scheduling. Thank you

Dr Shah was available Pre-procedure and listened very closely to some comments from me about my previous colonoscopy. His comments were practical and informative. He put any anxiety that I had, to rest. His attention to his patient was very satisfying.

It was not a good time for my appt. This has NOTHING to do with Dr. Manetas or his office. It has to do with the ins Co. I was in fear of losing all my bon Secour Dr's and was not happy about that!! The problem has been fixed and I can have my Dr back!!! So I have an appt for my procedure and all is great!!

Doctor Jindal was patient, explained things clearly, was on time, smiled and gave me attention. I really felt that he was confident but humble. He made me comfortable and he had an engaging, calm manner. He did blood work to be thorough and he is having me follow through with an endoscopy in the future. I trusted him and felt his sincerity.

Sometimes I don't feel like I'm being heard. I referenced some pain but not much was made of it. I did get a prescription for some new medicine that is working for my IBS-C.

I had not met Dr. Gallahan prior to the day of my endoscopy procedures. We spoke just prior to my procedures, as well as after my recovery. He has a nice bedside manner and was thorough in his explanations of the procedures and the immediate findings. I am new to Richmond, VA and plan to keep Dr. Gallahan as my Gastroenterologist.

She told me we are going to take care of you, and she was like that from the first moment, from the receptionist to the last person who accompanied me to the car. This doctor is very unprofessional and uses crude sarcasm. Example is "Do you five packs of cigarettes a day". He makes you feel belittled and uncomfortable. He is the perfect example of a systemic racist.

Although the office appeared busy the wait was not long. The nurses were friendly and explained everything they were doing. The doctor spoke with me beforehand made sure my questions were answered.

At first Dr. Kumar wasn't listening. Then finally he did. He looked at the blood tests that my PCP had run. I still have no answers but he gave me some "try this" suggestions.

Dr. Sandhu is compassionate and great in his bedside manner. He is extremely knowledgeable, however I was not please with the demeanor of his nurse to put me in a room to meet with Dr Sandhu. She grabbed my paperwork before I completed it and scolded me when I moved my arm while she was taking my blood pressure.

Dr Townsend was extremely friendly, very thorough, and seemed extremely knowledgeable.

After a day of prep, I was eager to get my first colonoscopy done and over. My scheduled doctor was running behind on procedures, but once Dr. Jindal finished all of his scheduled appointments, he jumped in to help his colleague. He made the procedure smooth and easy. I was very pleased, and even more grateful that everything went well.
