Marcella Ford, NP-C, is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Richmond Gastroenterology Associates and joined the practice in 2021.
She first earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia, where she was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi and The Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
After completing undergraduate school, Marcella began her 25-year career as a registered nurse in critical care at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. While working full-time in ICU, she returned to Brenau University to continue her education and received her MBA in Healthcare Management in 2007.
She was accepted into the MSN-FNP program at North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega, Georgia, and graduated in 2012 with her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner.
Once she received her master’s degree, Marcella transitioned to a nurse practitioner role, first with Gastroenterology Associates of Gainesville in Georgia and later with Bon Secours Mercy Health in Virginia.
Marcella is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
She was born and raised in Cornelia, Georgia. Marcella and her husband Bill have only been married for four years and have quite the love story! They were childhood friends but only reconnected when he moved back to their hometown. A mutual friend had the fantastic idea to reacquaint them, and they knew they were meant to be together immediately.
Marcella and Bill relocated to Virginia in 2019. Her husband is a pastor with Smyrna Christian Church in Bruington. When she’s not working, you can find Marcella, who also goes by “Marcie,” practicing yoga, cooking, and baking.
